If the rifle in question was manufactured in 1918 it is likely to have been a MkIII* (with an asterisk/star) unless it is a Lithgow. Possibilities include RSAF Enfield, BSA Co, LSA Co, Ishapore, NRF/SSA (will not be marked) and Lithgow. Who is the manufacturer of your rifle?, this should be stamped on the right wrist by the cypher and model number. Sometimes elements regarding factory repair/refurbishment etc and issue can be determined by stampings but if you are hoping to trace it to an individual soldier that is almost never possible. ![]() ![]() ![]() I am not sure what you are hoping to find on the rifle - it is virtually impossible in anything other than exceptional cases to determine very much about an individual rifle.
